Talking Data Speaker Series featuring Professor Andrew Stephen
One of the world’s leading academic experts on digital and social media marketing, Professor Andrew Stephen, L’Oréal Professor of Marketing at Oxford presented on 'What is the future of marketing?' to a full house last week.
Professor Stephen's presentation looked at how the world of marketing has changed, and continues to change, in recent years due to rapid advances in technology. These changes – including social media, mobile devices, wearables, big data, and marketing automation – affect consumers and marketers alike. The future is undeniably complex, and will be increasingly digitized, data driven and technology enabled. He discussed how these changes affect marketers, and how smart companies will be able to create long-term value for both themselves and their customers.
Professor Stephen was recently ranked as one of the most productive marketing professors in the world and 1st in the UK by the American Marketing Association, and in 2015 was named as one of the world’s top 40 business school professors under 40 by Poets and Quants.
At Oxford Saïd, he is the head of the marketing faculty, leads the Oxford Future of Marketing Initiative, and oversees the school’s marketing curriculum across its programmes.
During his visit to Melbourne, Professor Andrew Stephen was interviewed by Marketing magazine about the future of marketing, and how technology can be harnessed to usher in an era of marketing with purpose.
